The Strzelecki Stages , organised by the Cerberus Car Club and directed by Alan Mackay, was held on May 20.

It was a breakthrough win for Ian and Roslyn Martin in their Subaru by just 14 seconds from Mark Fawcett and Tony Boyd in a similar car. Danny Murphy and Ross Lilley completed the podium, also in a Subaru. Championship favourite Scott Pedder failed to finish while rival Brett Thomson only placed fifth.

2WD championship leader Darren Crozier took the Gemini into second in the category behind Steve Porter and Malcolm Hobrough in an RX2.
