The Bega Valley Motors Rally, organised by the Deepwater Sporting car Club and directed by Graham Roser, was conducted on June 9.

The event (and the NSWRC round) was won by Ben Baker and Chris Stone in a Lancer. The VRC round was won by Darryn Snooks and David Johns, also in a Lancer, placing third outright. They were only 7 seconds ahead of Benni and Paul Tirant in their Subaru. David Nutter and Roslyn Martin finished third VRC and were very much in the running for the championship after Brett Thomson and Rob Vanderee failed to finish. Brian Semmens and David Leoncini placed 12th outright and 4th VRC, once again taking full points in the VRC 2WD Championship. Geoff Sefton and Tim Hill finished 9th VRC and were the only finisher in the VRC Novice category.
