2006 NGK Rally of Melbourne

The NGK Rally of Melbourne was held on September 23-24

Australian Rally Championship Round 6

Victorian Rally Championship Rounds 5 and 6

The ARC event saw honours shared between Scott Pedder and Simon Weston in their Lancer Evo IX and Simon and Sue Evans in the Toyota Corolla Sportivo. Pedder took the first heat by 16 seconds with Evans fighting back to snatch the second heat by a mere 1.2 seconds.

The VRC was finely placed coming into the final two rounds, which comprised each day of Rally Melbourne. Dowel and Lee were tied with the Robisons, but the latter potentially needing to drop a score, while Evans and McAdam were well in contention on 52. The Robisons rolled on SS7 and their event was over while Evans was excluded with his Subaru declared ineligible. Dowel and Lee cruised to an easy victory by 3 minutes on Heat 1 to secure the championship, and placed second on Heat 2 behind Glen and Matt Raymond.
