The 2007 George Derrick Memorial Trial, organised by the Car Club of RMIT, was run on December 8 after being postponed from July 28. It ran in the Rawson area, The Clerk of Course was Bernard Miron.

As the final round of the VRC, the Derrick was a showdown between Justin Dowel / Matt Lee in the Lancer and Mark Fawcett / Simon Ellis in the Subaru. Dowel and Lee took an effective 6 point lead into the event, so for Fawcett/Ellis to take the championship they needed to perhaps win and have Dowel/Lee third or lower. Well Dowel/Lee won the event from Fawcett/Ellis by just 2 seconds!
THE VCRS Round was won by Matthew Fenner and Matt de Vaus in a Lancer Evo 3.
