The Akademos was conducted by the Melbourne University Car Club and was held on October 18. The event was pace noted with recce on the Saturday. The Director was Peter Otzen. The event incorporated the Bog-A-Duck Sprint Rally.

The 2009 Akademos was won by Brendan Reeves and Ben Atkinson in a Subaru Impreza WRC STi Spec C, just 11 seconds ahead of second placed Justin Dowel and Matt Lee in a Lancer Evo 9. Champions Mark Fawcett and Carrie Morris finished fourth in their Subaru just behind third placed Nathan Reeves and Scott Spedding in a Similar Subaru.
