The East Gippsland Stages was conducted by the Melbourne University Car Club and was held on May 16. Directed by Glen McAliece, the event was a blind rally conducted in both daylight and at night.
Victorian Rally Championship Round 1
The event was convincingly won by Mark Fawcett and Carrie Morris in a Subaru Impreza WRX, almost 5 minutes clear of second placed Brian Semmens and David Leoncini, who took the 2WD win in their Nissan 200SX.
