2013 East Gippsland Stages

The East Gippsland Stages was conducted by the Melbourne University Car Club and was held on May 4. Directed by Glen McAliece, the event was a blind rally conducted in both daylight and at night.

Victorian Rally Championship Round 1

The East Gippsland Stages became the first round of the VRC after the cancellation of both the Rally Bonnie Doon and the Derrick.

The overall winners were Andrew Pannam and Tracey Dewhurst in Subaru Imprexa WRX STi, with a win on Heat 1 and second on Heat 2. Heat 2 was won by Steve Kenway and Lauren Palmer in a similar Subaru.

Route

The event was conducted in two parts in the forests to the north of Bairnsdale. The daylight constituted Heat 1 and used five stages, going as far east as Walshs Cutting adjacent to the Omeo Highway (Great Alpine Road). The night division constituted Heat 2 and used another four stages, with some common road usage from the daylight.
