The East Gippsland Stages was conducted by the Melbourne University Car Club and was held on May 30. Directed by Darren McKemish, the event was a blind rally conducted in both daylight and at night.
Victorian Rally Championship Round 3
The overall winners were Justin Dowell and Simon Ellis in a Subaru Impreza WRX STi, with a win on Heat 1 and third on Heat 2. Other championship contenders Warren Lee and David Lethlean finished second overall with second on both heats. Darren Windus won Heat 2 with stand-in co-driver Adam Wright but only placed sixth on Heat 1.
