2017 Eureka Rally

The Eureka Rally was held on March 18 and 19. The event was organised by CAMS RallyCorp with the assistance of the Ballarat Light Car Club. The event was pace noted with recce on the Friday. Clerk of Course was Ross Runnalls.

The ARC Round was won by Harry Bates and John McCarthy in their Toyota Corolla S2000 with a win on Heat 1 and a third on Heat 2. Heat 2 was won by Eli Evans and Glen Weston in a Peugeot 208 Maxi. Nathan Quinn and David Calder placed second on both heats in their Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX.

The VRC Round was won by Araon Windus and Steve Fisher in a Subaru Impreza WRX STi. They won Heat 1 and placed third on Heat 2, which was won by Brendan Reeves and Ben Searcy in a similar Subaru. Glen Raymond and Kate Catford placed second on both heats, also in a Subaru.

Route

Heat 1 was on Saturday and comprised 5 special stages in the Korweinguboora area run twice, morning and afternoon, with a midday service back at Victoria Park in Ballarat.

Heat 2 on Sunday comprised 4 special stages, one in the forest north east of Ballarat and three to the south. Again these were repeated twice, morning and afternoon, with a service back at Victoria Park.
