2018 Mitta Mountain Rally

The 2018 Border Oils & Batteries Mitta Mountain Rally was held on May 5 and was organised by the North Eastern Car Club in conjunction with the Albury Wodonga and District Car Club.

The event was Round 2 of the Victorian Rally Championship and for the first time was Round 1 of the NSW Rally Championship .

The results were dominated by NSW entrants with the overall winner being Tom Clarke and Ryan Preston in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX. The VRC Round winners were Ben and Cathy Hayes in a Subaru Impreza WRC Sti, placing fifth overall and with a win and second place on the two VRC heats,

This includes both VRC heats and the NSW Championship round.

Route

The event was conducted over 5 special stages around the base town of Mitta Mitta. The first two stages were either side of the Omeo Highway and constituted Heat 1. Heat 2 comprised two stages to the north followed by the monster 40 km stage to the west.
