The Rally of the Bay was organised by the North Shore Sporting Car Club and was conducted on June 29th in the forests around Batemans Bay. It was a round of both the NSW Rally Championship and the Victorian Rally Championship.

The overall winners were Richie Dalton and Dale Moscatt in a Ford Fiesta.

The VRC round was conducted as two heats and was won by Richard Shimon and Jim Gleeson in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo XII, also winning Heat 2. Heat 1 was won by Tim Clarke and Ryan Preston, in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX, but they left the road on Heat 2.

Route

The event was conducted over six special stages with SS2 and SS3 repeated as SS5 and SS6 respectively. SS3 was cancelled. Consequently Heat 1 comprised only SS1 and SS2 while Heat 2 started with the monster 44.74 km SS4 followed by SS5 and SS6.
