Victorian Rally Championship Round 2
Victorian Club Rally Series Round 2
The Ada River Rally is a blind event, i.e. no recce and no pace notes.
The event moved its base east to Noojee and was conducted over 4 stages, two to the north of Noojee and two to the west.
Brendan Reeves and Kate Raymond won the VRC round and won the second heat in their Datsun 1600. They placed 5th on Heat 1 but won Heat 2 by 21 seconds from four time VRC champion, Justin Dowel, with Tracey Dewhurst in the new Fiesta G4. They finished second overall having taken 4th on Heat 1. Darren Windus and Joe Brkic won the first heat in their Ford Fiesta but retired with engine failure on the second heat. First VRC round winners, Tim and Leonie Clark, had placed second on Heat 1 but retired on Heat 2 with no rear brakes. Danny Traverso and Jason Page had placed 3rd on Heat 1 in the Evo 9 but clutch failure ended their run on SS7. This opened the door for Peter and Chris Schey to placed third overall and second 2WD in their beautiful Mark 1 Escort.
Darryn Snooks and Michael Foreshew (BMW) shared the Clubman honours with Nick Seymour and Gordon Grant (Fiesta), with a heat win each, while Troy Dawson and Amada Mills were the only Novices to finish, so taking maximum points.
Rowan Quill and Ari Paterson were winners of the VCRS event in a Nissan 180SX.
