The event was won by Kelvin Crocker and Dale Moscatt in a Lancer Evo3 from Gavin and Eric Croker in a similar car. The VRC round, which was conducted only over 8 of the 10 special stages, was won by Justin Dowel and Matt Lee in a Lancer by more than a minute from Craig and Carrie Morris in a Galant VR4. The two leading points scorers in the first two rounds were non finishers, Peter and Chris Montgomery (head gasket) and Mark Fawcett with Simon Ellis (suspension).
