2024 Ada River Rally

The Draper’s Civil Contracting Ada River Rally was held on April 20th and was organised by the Western District Car Club.

Victorian Rally Championship Round 2
Victorian Club Rally Series Round 2

The Ada River Rally is a blind event, i.e. no recce and no pace notes.

The event was once again based in Noojee and comprised 4 stages in a wide loop to the east and north of the town, The stages were run twice constituting the two VRC heats.

Electrical gremlins saw the early retirement of first round winner Adrian Stratford, while Josh Redhead retired on the second stage with engine misfire. A close tussle ensued between Brad and Jamie Luff in their Subaru, and Brenden Reeves with Aiden O’Halloran in the Datto. The two cars were never more than a handful of seconds apart with Reeves taking the Heat 1 win by 18 seconds and Luff the Heat 2 by 41 seconds, and hence taking the overall win. Warren Lee and David Lethlean were third in their Lancer Evo 9.

Joel Wald and Cathy Elliott took another VCRS round win in their Datsun Stanza, once again ahead of Brian Semmens and Dan Parry in the Nissan 200SX.
