The Mirboo Meander, organised by the HRA, was held on 27 March. Directed by Ron Verschuur, the event ran in South Gippsland, starting and finishing in Mirboo North.
The overall results had Rob Dyer and Martin Warneke winners in a Datsun 260Z. Second were Doug Fernie and Robin Smalley in a Datsun 1600 and third were Paul McLaughlan and Geoff Floyd in a Volvo 142. However, Dyer/Warneke were not eligible for outright awards under HRA rules, so Fernie/Smalley were first outright, McLaughlin/Floyd second and Alan Upton and Mark Laidlay third in a Datsun Sunny.
