The Magic Carpet Rallye, organised by the Renault Car Club of Victoria, was held on 10 March.
It was an Open event but not part of any series. The winners were Peter Janson and a Smith. Bob Waterhouse and Paul Patterson were quickest on the most of the stages they completed but retired late in the event with a fuel pump problem.
