The Experts, organised by the Bendigo Car Club and directed by Geoff Byron, was held on 25 October. Renowned as the most difficult navigational trial in Victoria, this event was named in memory of Jim Maude, a top navigator and great supporter of rallying.
The winners were Terry Naish and Ross Runnalls in a Datsun 1600.
