Rallies organised

The first record we have of the club organising a rally was the 1974 Winter Safari.

The following year the club first conducted its Forester Rally, which generally ran as a driver oriented event in the forests of west Gippsland. It was a popular event and achieved VRC status several times, including in 1980 and 1981 when it was known as the Autosport Stages. It subsequently became a round of the TAUCC series.

In the late 1990s and into the new millennium the club conducted the Strzelecki Stages, generally based out of Yarram and always a round of the VRC. After a break of several years the club conducted the Cerberus Stages, principally back in the forests north of Warragul, as a round of the VRC. In 2010 the event became a round of the Australian Rally Championship and was renamed Rally Victoria, running for five editions through until 2014.

The clubs other enduring event has been the Rivertown Rally, first run in 1977 and 78, after which it was renamed the John Blair Memorial Rally which ran for five years. It was resurrected in the 1990s as the Rivertown Trial, generally as a round of the Victorian Club Rally Series. By 2000 it was a sub-event of the Strzelecki Stages but after being cancelled in 2002, it did not reappear until the name was resurrected for a rallysprint in 2018.

Other events conducted by the club include:

  • Mountain Rally (1976)
  • Summer Trial (1975)
  • Nerve Deafness Sprint Rally (1986)
