Forester Rally (and Autosport Stages)

Find out about the rich history of the Forester Rally and Autosport Stages

Event History

Our first record of the Forester Rally was as a closed club event in 1975 but it may have been conducted earlier.  It then ran as an open event or round of the Victorian Rally Championship until 1981. It was traditionally conducted in west Gippsland, either around Erica or closer to Melbourne around Powelltown. In 1980 and 81 it was called the Autosport Stages. During these years, John White was the Director and prime mover.

After briefly being conducted as a novice event in 1983, the Forester Rally (sometimes Trial) returned in 1986 as a round of the expanded TAUCC series. In 1991 and 92 it was conducted as a sprint rally.
