The Moonlight Meander (usually Trial, sometimes Rally) is the Melton Motor Sports Club’s longest running event. The first edition was conducted in 1976, soon after the club’s formation. By 1980 it had become a regular round of the Western Region Trials Series and later in the decade was a round of the TAUCC series.  After a break of seven years it was resurrected as a round of the Robson Cup until 2003 after which it did not run for more than a decade. In recent years it has been a round of the Victorian Club Rally Series on several occasions. It has generally run in the Wombat Forest.
