The George Derrick, organised by the CCRMIT, was held on 19 September.
Victorian Rally Championship Round 4
This was the third consecutive Derrick directed by Simon Brown and conducted over mostly short special stages around Heathcote. Only four of the events twenty stages were over 10 km, the longest 19 km. But the event was a boon for spectators, with many excellent viewing locations, including the twice visited old railway line near Pyalong.
The event was won by Geoff Portman and Peter Gale by a almost two minutes. In comparison, 2nd, 3rd and 4th were separated by a mere 9 second.
