1989 Australian Rally Championship

In one of the most dominant performances in the history of the ARC, Greg Carr and Mick Harker in their Lancia Delta Integrale won five out of the six rounds, placing second on the final round to Ross Dunkerton. It was Carr’s third national title.

Carr’s main challenger during the year was Murray Coote, with Iain Stewart in the Mazda 323 Familia. They scored consistently with three seconds and three thirds. Up and coming Ed Ordynski, navigated by Lyn Wilson in a Galant VR4, showed his potential with three podium placings. With points on all but the first round, the consistent George Kahler with Tony Best in a Mazda 323 Familia placed fourth overall in the championship.
