The Goulburn-Murray Safari, organised by the HRA, was held on 27 November. The event comprised a timed drivers stage on private property just after the start in Shepparton, touring sections and a night navigational rally using forests and river roads near Echuca. The Clerk of Course was Graham Wallis. He was assisted by Laurie Garth and Ray Hoey.
Unusually, the event specified “road tyres” only due to a concern at the time that road wear by rally tyres may cause some events to not be given permits to run.
We don’t yet have results so can’t report who the winners were.
