Highlights
2011 was a somewhat difficult year with quite a few events cancelled. With two rounds cancelled from the VCRS, the Marysville Stages had to step up as two separate rounds. For the second year the VRC had dual heat events, and only three Victorian rounds other than the shared ARC round. Bega was included to bolster the series.
The Victorian Rally Championship was won by Warren Lee and David Lethlean in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9. Rowan Woollard won the VCRS drivers title in a Datsun 1600, Tim Clark the co-drivers title and the Nissan Car Club the club title.
The Alpine Rally of East Gippsland rounded out the year but was also impacted by the weather. Geoff Portman and Ross Runnalls won the event in an Escort for Portman’s record equalling sixth win.
Australian Rally Championship
The Australian Rally Championship was won by Victorians Justin Dowel and Matt Lee in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX. The Victorian round of the Australian Rally Championship was Rally Victoria.
