The Rising Sun, organised by the Nissan Car Club of Australia, was a “closed” rally held on 18 November in the forests to the north-east of Heathcote. Despite being closed to invited clubs, the event was a round of the HRA’s championship. We don’t have Supplementary Regulations so can’t identify who directed the rally.
The winners were Engels and David Leoncini in a Datsun 180B SSS. Second were Rowan Quill Jnr. and Rowan Quill Snr. in a Mazda RX7 with Rai Curry & Sue McCready 3rd in a Nissan Skyline.
