Highlights
With the increasing challenges of mounting state championship special stage events, the VRC adopted the “dual heat” format. Of the five rounds, three were shared with other championships (VCRS, NSWRC, ARC).
The Victorian Rally Championship was won by Nathan Reeves and Scott Spedding in a Subaru WRC STi.
The Victorian Club Rally Series was won by Simon and Ian Ellis in a Subaru RS Turbo. The club award went to the Historic Rally Association.
May saw another “old BP”, like 2008 called the BP Ultimate Rally.
The second edition of the Classic Outback Trial was organised from Victoria but ran in central NSW. It was won by Andrew and David Travis in a Datsun 1600.
Australian Rally Championship
The Victorian round of the Australian Rally Championship was Rally Victoria which was won by Glen and Matt Raymond in a Lancer Evo X. Victorians, Simon and Sue Evans, did not have a good event but had already secured their fourth national title in their Subaru WRX.
