Highlights

A mixed year for Victorian rallying with no ARC round and one VRC round cancelled. With some difficulty staging events, two VRC rounds were also VCRS rounds.

The Victorian Rally Championship was won for a second time by Mark Fawcett in a Subaru WRX STi, this time with Carrie Morris as co-driver. Victorians Simon and Sue Evans won their third national title.

Classic rallying was going strong with the first Classic Outback Trial being conducted in NSW, although the event was organised from Victoria. At the end of the year another successful Alpine was won by none other than Geoff Portman and Ross Runnalls.

Australian Rally Championship

There was no Victorian round of the Australian Rally Championship. However, Victorians Simon and Sue Evans won their second national title, this time in a Lancer Evo IX.

Victorian Rally Championship

VRC rounds were the East Gippsland Stages, Bega Valley, Derrick, Begonia and Akademos.

Outright Champions: Mark Fawcett / Carrie Morris, Subaru WRC STi.

2WD Champions: Brian Semmens / David Leoncini, Nissan 200SX RV S12

Clubman Award: Brenden Brown / Samantha Robison, Datsun 180B SSS

Novice Award: Brett Mackieson / Julian Ong, Daihatsu Charade

Victorian Club Rally Series

There were 6 VCRS events this year.  With limited candidate events and higher risk of cancellations, the appetite for joint VRC/VCRS events returned with the Derrick and Begonia both dual status.

This series was solely for members of the Historic Rally Association.
