The Longest Night, organised by the HRA, was an untimed navigational rally held on 21 June. Naming rights sponsor was Porters Paints. Entry was restricted to members of the HRA and invited clubs. The directing team were Phil Nicholas, Sue Nicholas & Hugh Nellis.

The winners were Simon Young, Geoff Byron and Paul Hogan on 243 points. Equal second on 241 points were three crews: Kim Harper & Nick Wright, Rob Dyer & Dave Smith and Bruce Wilson & Graeme Vaux.
