Highlights
A generally successful year in Victorian rallying with six rounds in the VRC and five in the VCRS despite some cancellations.
The Victorian Rally Championship was won by Craig Morris and Jennifer Cole in a Mitsubishi Galant VR4.
The Victorian Club Rally Series was won by Nick and Peter Whiteley in a 180B. CCRMIT won the club award.
1998 also saw the running of the last “Round Australia” trial, the Playstation Rally. The final two days ran in Victoria before finishing in Adelaide.
After a nine year gap, the Historic Rally Association held an “Olde” BP rally which was won by Terry Naish and Ross Runnalls.
Australian Rally Championship
Victoria’s round of the Australian Rally Championship was again the Rally of Melbourne. It was won by Neal Bates and Coral Taylor in the WRC Corolla.
